Fried chicken

This is a favorite for my husband, however, I don’t make it but once a year.

3 eggs
1 1/2 cups buttermilk (add 1Tbsp vinegar and let milk set 5 minutes to make buttermilk if you don’t have it)
2 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
4 (or more) teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon black or cayenne pepper
3 cups flour (I use plain white flour but any will do except wheat flour)

Beat the egg first, then add your milk. Combine flour with all the seasonings in a plastic container (big enough to cover and shake or a big zippered plastic bag). Place the chicken in and shake It up. Then I put the chicken in the egg and milk mixture then back in the flour.
Heat the oil to 365 degrees. Place each piece carefully in the oil and cook for 25-30 minutes. Always check internal temperature. I do mine well at 170 degrees. Place on a plate with paper towels to drain. Enjoy!!
